Jane Eppinga: I am of Dutch immigrant heritage, whose people came to the United States in the 1890s. They chose to farm in Iowa until my father became ill. We were among the health seekers who came to Arizona. Unfortunately his health failed but my mother and her three daughters remained and became a part of Arizona history. Whatever I am that is good, I owe to these people and these lands.

The West is not so much a place as a mood. It was a place where if disease, the elements, and your fellow man did not get you, then what you had, you could call yours.

With an interest in geneaology and western history, I have explored the past in my publications. And now gentle reader I would take you on a journey backward in time and retrace the footsteps of the past to find the truth if possible of how the West developed.

In the publications section, you can click on the titles and for books you will get a synopsis and you can read the entire article in the magazines.
